Sara Joseph employs multiple media, from oils and acrylics to watercolor, collage and mixed media to tell a single story. She was once content to merely reflect the material world around her, but now is passionate about expressing her response to that tangible world through the lens of her faith in Jesus Christ.
For almost three decades, Sara has been involved in the arts – creating, exhibiting, selling and occasionally teaching. She enjoys working in multiple media ranging from pencil, pen and ink, watercolor, acrylics and oils to sculpting in polymer clay. For her, the medium has always taken a back seat to the thrill of the story-telling potential of art. “The choice of media usually takes second place to the content of the work. I let what I want to say dictate the medium I will use to describe it. I am truly grateful to God for granting me this ability to express my dearest hopes, passions and aspirations.”
“God has prodded me out of my comfort zone far more than I could ever have thought possible. There is a lot about me today that I find completely unrecognizable and amazing. I am still in His school and cannot fathom what more He can have in store for me! “

The New Dawn – Sara Joseph
Gallery Wrap 40 x 30″
Acrylic on Canvas
This painting was inspired by the hope of a new season as a new day dawned, fresh and unspoiled, full of potential if lived with God. It reminded me of this verse from the Bible.
“We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:” 2: Pet1:19

This painting is a celebration of being redeemed from the curse of the law and given life and liberty in Jesus Christ! What an awesome blessing to now live this life in communion with God!
“Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us…” Gal 3:13
This was the curse we are redeemed from: “Cursed is the ground for your sake;
In toil you shall eat of it, all the days of your life. Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you.” Gen 3:18
Every time I see a thistle in bloom, I am reminded of this precious blessing!
