Born in Big Spring, Texas, and raised in Stephenville, Lorri has been passionate about art since childhood, sketching classmates and portraits from magazines. After graduating from Texas Tech University, she discovered oil painting and was immediately drawn to its beauty and challenge.
She studied under Paul Milosevich in West Texas and later with Don Sondag at Crealdé School of Art in Florida. Her work has been showcased in juried exhibitions including the Maitland Spring Art Festival (Honorable Mention), Melbourne Art Festival (Patron Award for Bridge of Lions), and Let’s Get Small at CreateArlington, Texas. She has also taught painting classes for adults and children.
Deeply inspired by nature, the ocean, cityscapes, and the landscapes of the Southwest, her painterly representational style captures movement, light, and texture. She credits her father, Gary Batte, a world-class wood carver, as her first artistic influence—he encouraged her talent early on, sketching cartoons with her as a child.
Now a member of the Lake Granbury Art Association, Lorri continues to create art that brings beauty, joy, and peace. She is thankful for the gift of creativity and the ability to keep learning.
