Bio
Kristin Ashman developed strong creative instincts at an early age, influenced by generations of
artists, writers and communicators in her family line, including her mother and sisters who are
accomplished artists and creatives.
After a twenty-year career in corporate communications, business development and human resources, including almost ten years of working in the Art Licensing industry with her sisters, licensing the artwork of her older sister; the demands of motherhood and the desire to be more present for her family led Kristin to start a home-based creative business, Found Blessings, producing antique-inspired mixed media pieces and selling vintage goods.
A beautiful surprise came about when creative life as she knew it changed in 2017 when Kristin,
with the encouragement of her parents, took an oil painting class. Kristin fell in love with
painting and expressing God’s Glory and Goodness through this new medium with her signature
loose, joyful brushstrokes. By 2018, Kristin’s artwork started selling very quickly, as her
contemporary, nostalgic, impressionistic style resonated with many people. In 2020, Kristin’s art
business branched out into two art lines to meet the needs of her clients: Found Blessings
which carries her inspirational gift items and art reproductions available through boutique retailers,
and Kristin Ashman Fine Art, focused on her original paintings available through The Charles
Morin Galleries in Fredericksburg and San Antonio, Texas.
In less than a decade, Kristin’s original artworks now grace the walls of hundreds of collectors’ homes across the United States, Europe and Africa.
Currently, Kristin works out of her home studio in Fredericksburg, Texas where she resides with
Doug, her husband of twenty-six years, in a now empty nest, as their daughters are now pursuing
higher education degrees, which include using their creative gifts that have continued down the
family line. Kristin’s parents also live in Fredericksburg.
“I feel so blessed to be able to encourage, love and inspire others through art! I’m incredibly grateful for the gift of being a painter and artist. It changes the way I see the little things – and I now see them for the precious jewels they really are! Art has helped me to see the extraordinary in what I thought was ordinary. I hope what I communicate with paint will do that for my viewer
as well.” – Kristin Ashman
