Camille Gibbons Kerr was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, where her love of art began at an early age. She pursued her passion through school, eventually earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of North Texas with a major in Painting and Drawing and a minor in Art Education. Camille went on to teach art in public schools for over 30 years, guiding students from kindergarten through high school—including 15 years teaching Advanced Placement art and painting. Helping young artists find their creative voices was a joy that paralleled her own artistic growth.
Her work explores visual problem-solving in two-dimensional space, using both natural and man-made objects chosen for their relationships in color, shape, and light. Depending on her vision, Camille’s images may be realistic or abstract, always rooted in thoughtful composition and a sensitivity to spatial harmony. She works in watercolor, oil, and mixed media, often using contrast in materials and design to create visually engaging pieces that invite closer exploration.
