Soft November – Cherie Giddens
Framed 38 x 30
Splender in Creede Colorado
26 x 32
The creation of a textured surface with various papers gave the foundation for this landscape. I was in Creede, Colorado, where the ragged cliffs protrude all around the majestic landscape. This painting captured the texture and mood of this late August afternoon.
Thawing in the Glow
Framed 30 x 38
Spring in the Colorado mountains is alive with the sounds of rushing rivers and streams over flowing with snow melt. As a watercolorist, these scenes shout to be painted. The white paper serves as a perfect format for the endless subtleties in the shadows of the ice, snow and aspens.
Pretty N Pink
Framed 30 x 40
Transparent Watercolor & Acrylic
The extravagance of the Peony inspired this large portrayal of their soft petals. I began with watercolor to capture the blooms. The painting was then mounted on a board with additional paper added for texture. Acrylic paint was then used for strong contrast to surround the blooms of “Pretty N Pink”.
