One Day of Glory – Cherie Giddens
One Day of Glory
32 x 27
Framed 26 x 34
“I spent my childhood visiting beaches along Padre Island in the Gulf of Mexico. I always thought of the sea gulls as beachcombers along with myself, my sisters and cousins who combed the beaches with me. When painting this scene of waves upon the shore, which are also known as “beachcombers”, I included the sea gull in memory of those wonderful days at the beach.”
Pretty N Pink
Framed 32 x 41
Transparent Watercolor & Acrylic
Watercolor is the perfect medium to paint the delicate and soft look of the peony bloom. Using watercolor for the blooms and acrylic for the foliage made a great contrast to accent the firm leaves against the flower’s “Pretty N Pink” blooms.
Evening at the Falls
28 x 21 Framed
I began with wet-into-wet color to tone the paper with the color of the prevailing light against the cliffs. These colors of crimson were allowed to shine through every detail of the painting.
