I like to paint women and children in gardens. This was a painting from my imagination.
The objective in my night scenes is to emphasize the mystery of night by having a large dark silhouette. While painting this dark area, a shape of a dog appeared in the shadows and I decided to “go with it”. I didn’t want the dog to be alone at night, so added the figure to complete the story.
The white Sycamore trees near Sedona, Arizona and the white stone wall called for something unusual… the red sky. Visitors to the area seemed to enjoy leisurely walking and resting among these sculptural trees.
