  • Sunset – Ruth Francis

    $2,400.00

    Sunset

    Gallery Wrap 24 x 48″

    Oil on Canvas

This is reminisce of all the sunsets I enjoyed while living at the foot of the Sandia Mountain.  Looking West from there the Rio Grande Valley rises to the West Mesa on which five extinct volcanos reside.  Every evening as the sunset builds behind them, they appear as sentinels guarding heavens treasured gold.

  • Clouds – Ruth Francis

    $2,400.00

    Clouds

    Gallery Wrap 24 x 48″

    Oil on Canvas

This painting was inspired by an awesome sky revealed to me while driving home one day in April.  I actually took a picture out my windshield at every red stoplight on Southlake boulevard.  The sequence gave me wonderful insight to how a storm is created.  I tried to build this storm in the same manner as the Great Creator.  Although my painting may be a great earthly creation, it pales in comparison to what I watch Him do.

  • In Memory of Summer – Cherie Giddens

    $595.00

    In Memory of Summer

    Framed 24 x 36″

    Watercolor

The fun and discovery of summer adventures create special memories, sometimes not literal but always with focus on the experienced moment.
This painting was taken from one of Henry’s photos from his summer travels.

  • Snow collects in and on Trees – Naomi Brotherton

    $700.00

Snow Collects in and on Trees

    Framed 23 x 30”

    Watercolor

    SOLD

In the late 1960s I wanted to paint snow scenes, but living in Texas we seldom had much snow and I had not seen any in a number of years. Woke up one Dallas morning with 6 inches of snow all over.  I got to see what the weight of it did to various trees, plants and other things.
In my childhood my Mom would collect some really clean show… add vanilla, sugar and a little milk for an ice cream treat midwinter.

  • Country Cabin – Naomi Brotherton

    $700.00

    Country Cabin

    Framed 23 x 30”

    Watercolor

    SOLD

Traveling across the country, where there is lots of agriculture, one can detect where the farmer’s home is likely to be… in a cluster of trees.
Where prevailing winds are very strong, a row of trees near the home can be a wind breaker.
The trees around this small house might cast cool shade on it in morning and afternoon.

  • To the Back Forty – Naomi Brotherton

    $700.00

    To the Back Forty

    Framed 23 x 30”

    Watercolor

    SOLD

In my youth, though we lived in town, we frequently visited various farms and I became aware that nearly every farm had a “Back Forty” where you were warned to keep the gate closed.  It seemed to be an important area as the farmer would so often refer to it.  It is still a mystery to me why it seemed to be hallowed ground.

  • Feeding in Morning Fog – Naomi Brotherton

    $700.00

    Feeding in Morning Fog

    Framed 23 x 30”

    Watercolor

There is mystery in the slow soft movement of fog. One minute you may see the cows and wonder if the farmer is out there too.  If you look hard enough might you see him?
To me this has been a challenge for my paintings to show that mystery… “now you see it, now you don’t.”

  • Awaiting the Helmsman – Naomi Brotherton

    $700.00

    Awaiting the Helmsman

    Framed 23 x 30”

    Watercolor

The stand of trees seems to have grown in an old fence row.  The boat seems to be expecting the fisherman for a trip to check his lines left earlier.  Hopefully, there will be fish to fry tonight.

  • Wintering Willows – Naomi Brotherton

    $700.00

    Wintering Willows

    Framed 23 x 30”

    Watercolor

In the artist’s language, cold is expressed with blue and green.  In this subject the leaves are gone and the limbs and twigs make a pattern of lace against the sky. The cool colors suggest that it is winter, thus setting the scene for ones’ imagination.
