“A splendid sunset over a darkening marsh.  It is inspired by the beauty of south Louisiana and its expansive waterways.  I created this painting with no particular photo reference. I lived in Baton Rouge, Louisiana for a couple of years and in my previous life as an environmental consultant, we would search for and investigate derelict/abandoned vessels in the intercoastal waterways nearby.  I spent many days out on the water and this painting captures a moment in time of those days.  I was inspired to use deep, rich colors for the land and bright pastel bursts for the evening sky above.”
