Kingston and the Bluebonnets

“Spring in the Texas Hill Country is a sight to behold.  Bluebonnets abound on abundant green hillsides from Austin to San Antonio.  The particular ranch owner of this land told me he had two senior bulls.  This is one of them, by the name of Kingston, and he was a magnificent animal.  From the safety of the opposite side of the fence I was able to watch him for quite a bit of time.  His marking was absolutely beautiful.  Long drives on the back country roads of this beautiful portion of the state are one of my favorite past times in March and April and I usually come back with hundreds of reference photos I can use for painting inspiration.”
