“Although one sparrow might not be seen as a very strong creature, together in a flock they can have great power. The sociable aspect of sparrows’ behavior also represents community values and teamwork, and their short but busy lives remind us to make every moment count.  This painting captures a common house sparrow perched on a sunflower stalk appreciating the last days of summer.  I painted this piece with golden accents of summer and a light grey background symbolizing to me the start of a cooler season.“
