“I thought up the name for this painting years before I was able to capture the right light hitting the bales in my neighbor’s field. At last, the sun turned them almost orange at sunset. I was able to photograph them for posterity and couldn’t wait to paint them. Hay bales are one of my very favorite subjects.”
