“Distant Memories is a painting that is very close to my heart. Although abstract, upon closer observation one can see the impression of water surrounded by grasses and foliage amidst the sunlight and shadow. I wanted to capture the feeling of when I was young and would spend time on my grandparents’ farm. We would explore the creek out beyond the fields and crops. We would pick cattails and wildflowers and stroll around without a care in the world.”
