Hand Blown Glass Vase

This vessel is made with filigrana murrini, a technique that employs glass rods of different color that are fused together with clear glass and then stretched. Once stretched, it is cut into small tiles.  The tiles are then pieced together like a puzzle to crate the pattern for the vase. A ball of hot glass is rolled over the patterned tiles and from there the vase is blown and shaped.  One can look through the “holes” in this piece to the other side of the vase. The overall visual impact is stunning, making this vase an ideal centerpiece for any room.
