“I found this cow lazily munching on some grass in a field.  She was actually black in color.  I suppose she may have been an Angus.  We got into a bit of a staring contest.  I took some photos and got to work when I got back in my studio.  I started painting her in black but felt the painting was getting a bit too heavy and my painting mood that day was feeling more light and fun.  So I started reworking the painting with my palette of blues.  The blue highlights of a black cow ended up being the shadows of a white cow.  Never fear restarting a painting and go with the flow that you are feeling.  I hope you like how “Blue Moo” turned out as well as I do!”
