3-Dimensional Oil

“When I am lucky enough to be commissioned to create something for someone, the first question I ask is ‘What colors did you have in mind?’  Often people ask me how I come up with ideas for paintings the answer is ‘Whatever colors are in my mind’.   Sometimes when I am finished painting a piece, I ask myself ‘what was on my mind’? You see where I am going here… A new series of smaller 3-Dimensional Oil and mixed media works.  These first 6 are maquettes created for a larger project that will have some different elements included in the painting and I needed to sample on a smaller scale.  Once the maquette was photographed, the element was removed so I could create each finished piece.”
