“I spent my childhood visiting beaches along Padre Island in the Gulf of Mexico. I always thought of the sea gulls as beachcombers along with myself, my sisters and cousins who combed the beaches with me. When painting this scene of waves upon the shore, which are also known as “beachcombers”, I included the sea gull in memory of those wonderful days at the beach.”

Transparent Watercolor & Acrylic
The extravagance of the Peony inspired this large portrayal of their soft petals. I began with watercolor to capture the blooms. The painting was then mounted on a board with additional paper added for texture. Acrylic paint was then used for strong contrast to surround the blooms of “Pretty N Pink”.

As is most always the case, the Texas Bluebonnets were beautiful this year. Each artist that paints these beauties has a different view of how to portray their beauty. However, as a Signature Watercolor Artist, Cherie has a special way of showing the splendor, radiance and soul of these “Texas Blues”.
