Out of the Blue – Cherie Giddens
Out of the Blue

Pretty N Pink
Framed 30 x 40
Transparent Watercolor & Acrylic
The extravagance of the Peony inspired this large portrayal of their soft petals. I began with watercolor to capture the blooms. The painting was then mounted on a board with additional paper added for texture. Acrylic paint was then used for strong contrast to surround the blooms of “Pretty N Pink”.

A gathering of eggs always reminds me of the wonderful times in Grandma’s kitchen. There were always fresh eggs from her hen house. I had to paint the well-worn table cloth that brought to life those glorious memories. And oh how I loved those feathers.
Quiet Winter Shadows
Framed 32 x 40
Nothing seems to reflect light and shadow better than snow. While painting this winter scene I played with the glow of sunlight that creates color in the white of the tree trunks and the snow revealing the reds, yellows and blues everywhere.
