Explaining Relativity began with a fascination for Victorian woodcuts that illustrated new findings from the great explorers.  As the descriptions were verbal, the illustrators used their imaginations to fill in, resulting in some rather odd creations. Then I found other fancies that related, culminating in the addition of more realistic birds that live in my neighborhood and a view of the canal in my front yard.
