“Finding the Light”
by Julia Ross
“Art is healing. My son passed away this summer. He was brilliant and a source of inspiration. At 26 years old, he was a beacon of light to this world. As I tumbled down the dark hole of grief, each stroke of the paintbrush has enlightened me and brought healing and understanding to this new incomprehensible reality.
Through my work, you will see that unfolding of my heart’s longing to connect as each new piece has grown with light. Darkness cannot exist in the presence of light, specifically divine light. That spirit of love has moved through my art to expand and reveal itself continually.
Painting has also given me a path to bring light and healing for social good. My son was a force of nature and his power to help others will live on in the contributions of my work. The proceeds from this show will go to the National Coalition for the Homeless – reaching out to serve the nearly 60,000 families currently experiencing homelessness in the US today.”
