“It’s amazing to be able to explore a piece of the Industrial Revolution. Set against the blue sky, the deep red rust of the gigantic structures is a site to see. This furnace in Birmingham operated for nearly 100 years and employed thousands of people. Now a National Historical Landmark, it serves as a very interesting museum of industry. I was drawn to the beautiful lines, curves and colors creating an abstract quality in design.”
