A Flamboyance of Flamingoes

“Believe it or not, a group of flamingos is Actually called a Flamboyance. It’s fitting, isn’t it.  This collage started with a couple of Audobon prints, pink paper, and an Anthropology shopping bag.  I noticed that the lines of the marbleized paper could be convincingly cut to look like a bird. It all came together. Incidentally, one of my ever-so-great uncles was the first president of the Audubon Society.  Also, I saw my first flamboyance in the wild in the Galapagos a few years ago.  Hence my fascination.”
